Even if spring is almost at our door, winter is still in full swing here. What better way to spend the long winter nights than cozying up with a good game. Here are five lesser known cozy games that we think deserve more attention.
1. Everafter Falls
Everafter Falls is a farming game with an unusual story. You wake up after a traumatic event only to discover that your life wasn’t really your life. All that you experienced, your family, and your friends were all a simulation. You have to reacquaint yourself with your authentic life, the life of a farmer. Playing this game was a treat. If you love farming sims and decorating just like I do, then you’ll definitely enjoy this game. There are so many items to collect, all of which you can use to either decorate or display in your home. Everafter Falls also has some interesting mechanics not usually seen in farming sims which made it stand out from the many farming simulators available. Everafter Falls is one of the best indie sims I’ve played this year. The artwork is colorful and delightful. If you like game like Stardew Valley, albeit on a smaller scale, then you might want to give Everafter Falls a chance.

2. Berry Berry Festival
Berry Berry Festival is a wholesome RPG. After a whole year of waiting, it’s Berry Berry Day again! Sophie is excited to help the resident of Ortgaurd prepare for the festival. Complete quests, play mini-games all while picking berries for the Berry Berry Harvest competition. This game the epitome of cozy. The stylized artwork is so cute, and the characters are adorable. The atmosphere is relaxed and you don’t get punished for not winning a mini-game. If you lose, you can simply continue on playing without any repercussions. Berry Berry Festival is a short game with a spectacular ending. Perfect for a younger audience or the young at heart.

3. Take a Walk
Take a Walk is a gorgeous walking simulator. This game is exactly what it seems. Take a walk in some amazing settings, and simply enjoy nature without ever stepping outside. There are five maps, with more on the way, and each one is unique. Find collectibles, watch the wildlife, take in the breathtaking view, or just set it in the background as you go about your day. Take a Walk is relaxing, and the perfect game to take some time out of your busy day to enjoy the moment.

4. NAIRI: Rising Tide
NAIRI: Rising Tide is the long awaited sequel to the charming NAIRI: Tower of Shirin. A story blending humor, adventure, and mystery is the backdrop for this interesting mix between a story rich point & click game and a visual novel. The hand-drawn artwork is simply breathtaking, and it has a truly unique style. The puzzles are fun to complete, but what made this game stand out for me was the myriad of little player friendly details, plus the optional dungeons that add an extra challenge. Having played the first one is recommended for the backstory, but not required to play this sequel. Whether you are a fan of the previous NAIRI game or a fan of point & click, NAIRI: Rising Tide is sure to keep you entertained.

5. Jellies of the Deep
Jellies of the Deep is a hand-drawn hidden object game. Find 60 unique jellies within five different areas. As you collect the unique jellies, you can even name each one, and view your collection at any time while playing. The many distinct mechanics make for some fun extra challenges, and insert some welcome diversity into the gameplay . With a soothing soundtrack, beautiful underwater artwork, and cozy atmosphere it’s the perfect game to spend a relaxing evening.
